NEAC Delegation in front of the United Nations

As registered
team of United Nations
Partnerships for Sustainable
Development, on May 10 -
16, NEAC Asociation will be present in New York for the CSD-16
Partnerships Fair.
There will make a presentation about our initiatives and
showcase our activities. We will also have a desk where to
display and distribute information related to our
organization.
Partnerships
for sustainable development - voluntary, multi-stakeholder
initiatives aimed at implementing sustainable development
and contributing to the implementation of Agenda 21, Rio +5
and the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation (JPOI) - were an
important complementary outcome of the World Summit on
Sustainable Development (WSSD). At its 11th Session in May
2003, the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD)
reaffirmed that these partnerships contribute to the
implementation of intergovernmental commitments, recognizing
that partnerships are a complement to, not a substitute for,
intergovernmental commitments.
The CSD Partnerships Fair provides a venue for registered Partnerships for Sustainable Development to showcase progress, launch new partnerships, network with existing and potential partners, create synergies between partnerships and learn from each other's experiences. The Partnerships Fair gives CSD participants an opportunity to gather information on and discuss the valuable contribution of these important initiatives towards supporting the implementation of inter-governmentally agreed sustainable development goals and objectives.
The Partnerships Fair is an official part of the CSD and a summary of its activities will be included in the Report of CSD 16. A more detailed account of the Partnerships Fair Activities will also be available on-line through the CSD Secretariat’s daily Partnerships Wires.
